"Surviving Hard Times" or How the Church Made It Through the "Dark Ages", is a course that will consider the great difficulty which fell upon the Church after the collapse of the Roman Empire. For a period of a thousand years or so after that event, it was not at all obvious at times that the Church, and Western Civilization would endure. We will discuss those crucial points in the Church's history when something heroic happened to save the day and to see if there is lesson there for modern times. The course meets in the chapel.
