By Margaret Brown This organization was founded in 1976 by Ruth Adams after the min-ister asked her to start a social group for the 55 and older age group. The group began with 8 Liberty Grove members. Soon other friends and neighbors heard about it and wanted to join. It is now an “Outreach” program for LGUMC and has grown to over 100 members of both Liberty Grove and neighboring churches. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month, September through June at 10:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. After a short business meeting we have entertainment from a variety of sources for about an hour. Then we eat lunch together and enjoy the camaraderie. Some-times we bring a sandwich (desert and drink provided). Other times a light lunch is pre-pared at a reasonable price. At Christmas, Valentine’s and June we have a catered meal. We also have several day (or longer) trips arranged by our program director. All mem-bers, new and old, are cordially invited to come and enjoy as many meetings and trips as you can. Come join us! You’ll like it! First Meeting - Sept. 2, at 10:30 a.m. Entertainment - Jazz Trio Bring your own sandwich - dessert and drink provided Belles And Beaux Chancel Choir New choir members are al-ways welcomed at choir rehears-als.
